In honor of our dear colleague, Alex Gonzalez, we name this scholarship award after him in recognition of his dedication and commitment to all students, new professionals, and the Latinx/a/o community. This scholarship award will help undergraduate students, graduate students, and new professionals attend the NASPA Latinx/a/o Knowledge Community Pre-Conference.
Please join us, Tuesday Oct. 29th at 8:00 p.m. at the conference hotel for the fourth annual Women's Words of Wisdom Dessert Reception. This event provides an opportunity for women in student affairs to socialize and hear from outstanding women in the field providing words of inspiration in the hopes of supporting our female colleagues at all levels of their career.
In a few short weeks, members of the NASPA IV-W Region will gather in Fargo, North Dakota to think critically about the future and how student affairs professionals can help students to succeed. The roles Student Affairs professionals provide on campuses across the region, nation, and world, are imperative to our students’ success.
I love autumn! I have a whole Pinterest board with quotes, decorations and photos dedicated to this time of year. I chose one of my favorite fall quotes as the title of this month’s blog to remind us that change is inevitable in life and at work, but it can also produce wonderful opportunities.
"Everyone has a story to tell, a lesson to teach, and wisdom to share...Life is a beautiful masterpiece bound together by your experiences. Open up and share your story; become an inspiration to others. You can make a difference because you matter. You were created with purpose. Live your life with intention, go out there and make a difference by being the difference." (Koulouris, 2012)
