2020 NASPA Student Affairs Fundraising Conference

The purpose of the 2020 NASPA Student Affairs Fundraising Conference is to share and exchange strategies, ideas, and resources, and to discuss issues related to student affairs fundraising and external relations. The conference promotes an exchange of best practices. It is designed for professionals who currently have development responsibilities specifically in student affairs and for professionals with backgrounds and experience in either student affairs or development.

The 2020 NASPA Student Affairs Fundraising & External Relations Conference is sponsored by NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education as a three-day professional development forum for professionals with specific fundraising, development, and donor communication responsibility for student affairs divisions. The primary audience includes prospective, aspiring and seasoned development professionals; new and seasoned student affairs professionals with roles connected to fundraising and external relations; and senior student affairs officers. The conference facilitates an exchange of strategies, ideas, and resources between participants regarding fundraising for student affairs. Conference educational sessions promote an exchange of best practices.

  • Conference History

    The conference is co-sponsored by the NASPA Student Affairs Fundraising and External Relations Knowledge Community (KC). The vision of the KC is to enable NASPA members to develop fundraising knowledge and skills to enhance programs and services for Student Affairs at their individual institutions. The KC provides a professional home within NASPA for professionals working in, or connected to, student affairs development and external relations. The KC provides senior student affairs officers with a place to connect for the latest fundraising trends and strategies.

    Previous Conference host institutions include University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University (2005); University of South Carolina (2006); University of Illinois (2007); Georgia Tech (2008); University of Florida (2009); University of Missouri (2010); University of Utah (2011); University of Louisville (2012), Louisiana State University (2013), University of Houston (2014), the Ohio State University (2016), and University at Albany, SUNY (2018

  • About our 2020 Host: University of Louisville

    The University of Louisville is a state-supported research university located in Kentucky's largest metropolitan area. It was a municipally supported public institution for many decades prior to joining the university system in 1970. The University has three campuses. The 287-acre Belknap Campus is three miles from downtown Louisville and houses eight of the university's 12 colleges and schools. The Health Sciences Center is situated in downtown Louisville's medical complex and houses the university's health-related programs and the University of Louisville Hospital. The 243-acre Shelby Campus is located in eastern Jefferson County.

Registration

Registration as a member is based on individual membership status

  • If you are employed by a college or university that is an institutional member, you can join as an individual member at the $75 rate. This gives you the conference registration and a year of memebership for less than the non-member registration fee.
  • If your institution is NOT a member, then you will need to join at the associate affiliate rate of $242 and then you can pay the individual memeber rate for conference registration. Visit the membership section of the NASPA website to learn about membership types.

Policies

View Registration Policies

Refunds will be given for cancellations, received in writing by May 15, 2020, less a $50.00 processing fee. In addition, a processing fee of $50.00 per registration will be charged for credit cards declined.

Registration Cancellation Policy: Cancellation/refund deadline less a $50.00 administrative fee is May 15, 2020. This program may be canceled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. In this case, fees will be refunded; however, NASPA will not be responsible for additional costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, and/or travel agencies. NASPA is not responsible for weather or travel related problems and will not reimburse registration fees for these issues. Please click here to submit a refund request. Refunds will not be processed after April 32020 for any reason.

Substitutions: Substitutions are allowed by individuals within the same institution/company. Substitutions should have the same member classification so that the payment is an even exchange transfer of payment. Additional charges may apply if the membership status is not the same. Please email your request for the substitute attendee to refund@naspa.org.

Purchase Orders: NASPA does NOT accept purchase orders as a form of payment. For registrants requiring an invoice to have a check payment processed, please use the Bill Me payment method to complete your registration. The resulting invoice can be found and downloaded under the My NASPA section of the website (must be logged-in), by selecting theView Invoices link from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, email a request to Membership to have a PDF of your invoice sent to you. Bill Me registrations are considered complete and will hold your place in an event, however the balance due must be settled prior to attending.
