I stand on the shoulders of mentors who have come before me, administrators in our field that have helped me find my voice. I honor and thank these individuals by giving back, not only in time and talent, but also financially. This is why I give to the NASPA Foundation and the NUFP Fund—I am helping support our field that creates agents of change.
I think it is important to contribute to what you believe in. I have been in the Student Affairs profession full-time since 1988 and I have been a NASPA member for almost that long. The more involved I have become, the increased knowledge I have gained on the importance of being engaged and the role of contributing to the advancement of my profession.
